Can you see it now? I can on my end, but catbox has been iffy like this sometimes, even back on Anime-Sharing. I'm actually surprised it's still the same old upload. But if I can find a more consistent site that doesn't mind light NSFW, I'd switch it.

Color me shocked to learn that for these specific border resources, a PNG is actually smaller than the SVG source - by anywhere from half to 3/4. Even when the PNG is pushed up to double the original resolution! So I put together the theme version above.
What's really irritating me is it's still weirdly choppy to scroll on mobile... might have to look into that further, but at least it's already quite a bit more efficient. Lots of projects going on but hoping to get this theme in place pretty soon!

I'm still not sure what to make with SVG's haha. In my line of work, PNG's are still easier to use and often ideal with the simple transparency.

Looks like they're the ideal solution here, too. I sort of assumed that SVG - a vector format - would ultimately give the advantages of a smaller file size and crisp lines regardless of zoom level. Turns out that in this specific application, both were wrong!

I think I'll go forward with this setup, though I may later add in a per-device setting (via cookie) for a more minimal version for anyone who struggles with site performance.

All right, we have a slowly-mutating subtheme now. Last night I put a new forum theme in place, just called Inyouchuu. As always, it's selectable at the bottom of the page. It is basically the blue-dark theme but with some elements swapped out for the new look I've been working on. So far the changes are only visible in threads. Some elements are missing, links are the wrong color, text is harder to see, etc. etc. Obviously the redesign is a WIP at this point. Anyone who wants to play with it is welcome to try it out, but be aware it's still very much incomplete and may break in weird ways at any time until I've fully ported things over.

I still need to put together new header/footer designs and other stuff too... so very much work to be done.
