Names of Ship Pairings

All right, just a goofy little fun idea I had recently while working on a fanfic. Most fandoms name their character ships by just putting the two (or more) names together, sometimes in very clever ways. Like the Bennet x Fischl shippers of Genshin (BenneFischl) or the ones who support Katniss x Peeta from Hunger Games (KatPee... or PeeNiss).

But there's one community off the top of my head that does things a little differently, and that's my beloved emotional wrecking ball, OMORI. Shippers of Sunny x Aubrey generally refer to the ship as Sunburn; Sun is not only part of Sunny's name, it's used in reference to him (as in, for instance, "The sun shined brighter when she was here"). Burn refers to Aubrey's fiery personality. The whole title doubles as a reference to when Sunny fell asleep on a car ride from the beach and his head rested on Aubrey's shoulder (while feeling "the tinge of tomorrow's sunburn").

This ship name spiraled into an entire suite of very imaginative names for other possible pairings as well. This includes Bushfire (Basil x Aubrey, Basil being a gardener), Suntan (Sunny x Kel, with Kel being an outdoorsy Latino), Baseball (Kel x Aubrey, Aubrey is based and Kel plays basketball), and the very popular Sunflower (Sunny x Basil). And then there's the fully established canon ship, Hero x Mari, which fans usually call... uh... HeroMari.

Anyhow, thinking about this made me wonder: If we followed the same sort of naming conventions, what would we call the various possible ships of Inyouchuu? And so I made a few of them up! Feel free to suggest better ones or think of more; this is just a few I thought of right away.

• Mikoto x Yamato: Sex&Violence (Yamato is horny, Mikoto is a violent tsundere)
• Mikoto x Sui: Rainstorm or Thundershower (Mikoto has thunder/lightning magic, Sui has water magic)
• Takeru x Sui: Typhoon (Takeru has wind magic)
• Nightmare x Mikoto x Sui: Midnight Rainstorm
• Ouka x Kikuka: Gardeners (Ouka means "cherry blossom", Kikuka means "chrysanthemum")
• Yamato x Kikuka: Deflowered
• Meioki x Kikuka: Stockholm (Syndrome, i.e. Kikuka was under Meioki's captivity for ten years)

Added from later in this thread:

• Rinko x Sui: Waterfox (Rinko has a fox transformation)
• Rinko x Kyoko: Double Tails
• Meioki x Ouka x Kikuka: Y-Junction (Meioki has a two-for-one deal on offspring-seeding organs, and you can figure out the rest from there)

I am terrible at these, but love them haha. I definitely think we need a throuple title for Meioki x Kikuka x Ouka.

• Rinko x Sui: Foxy Thundershower, Foxy Water? (Rinko has fox transformation powers, Sui water)

I was trying to figure out what the heck happened to your post for a while there and then I realized half of it is set to black somehow. I really gotta get that new parser all set...

Anyway, you gave me a couple ideas.

• Rinko x Sui - I had figured the "thunder" part would be in reference to Mikoto, BUT you made me think of combining the names in a different way... Waterfox! And it's the name of a web browser too!
• Hatsune x Mikoto x Takeru - Alabama or maybe Family Bonding

Hey, ultimately it's an insect eroge and I bet you could totally come up with some wild NSFW ship names lol

Waterfox is good!

• Meioki x Kikuka x Ouka: Double Drill Trouble? lol. Got two twins and a demon with two dicks. Something like that...
