I also could have sworn that someone mentioned her having a fiance. Does her story deal with that or am I just pulling it from nowhere?

I guess by this point its been awhile since ive read the remake myself, but i swear i remember her having a fiance, one of the bad endings
I think the students were harassing her as well as some of the teachers but they were clearly under the influence of nightmare/imp increasing the amount of lust everyone felt to an unnatural degree, like they clearly were not themselves when it was literally all the guys in the school acting that way towards the teacher. and yeah its sad. the "good?" ending
also nightmare should be dead after the events of the first game, although is it true nightmare is actually a species? maybe thats canon, although personally im not sure how i feel about it since I like to think of nightmare as some super powerful demon in the demon world, and to think of him more as his own character or kinda like a final boss in a JRPG. by making nightmare a species, its kinda like that same feeling i get when i play a beat em up and the later levels have you fighting past bosses as regular enemies. its like "oh, this is just a regular enemy now?" and that always felt kinda lame to me(i know that might just be me and maybe a little bit pedantic/nit-picky) on the other hand him basically being sealed away under the school ground and wanting revenge after getting free thanks to the school being built atop the area? is kinda interesting/gives him more personal motives to use the school and then escape into the world at large? assuming im understanding that right. and i guess it would make some sense that it would be a species

...Or any bad ends at all. I have a LOT to catch up on after a lot of other things are done.
I guess with the website and pinball stuff and whatnot its probably hard to find time to go back and read some of the other endings, so thats fair. are you hoping to get around to it eventually though?
I imagine its probably not your favourite part of the series but most of the bad ends are not too violent in terms of whats shown at least compared to later games/other tinkerbell games, some of the descriptions can be disturbing but there are some interesting moments with characters and story stuff. one of my favourite endings on Suis route is actually one of Suis bad endings because i thought it had an interesting twist to it and it kinda went in a direction i wouldn't have suspected, while saying a lot about Suis mental state if she kinda lets her negative emotions take over and her lack of self worth, giving into despair and what that leads to in the end.
theres also this one Mikoto bad ending that probably shouldn't have made me laugh but i couldn't help but almost find it funny in a way somehow? and some of the endings are pretty sad but i also think it makes getting those good endings that much more rewarding, also the joke ending with Momo is too good, you definitely gotta see that! there is this one bad ending with mikoto that does go on for quite awhile though and one of my biggest complaints about it would probably be that several of the NSFW scenes in it kinda just re-use the same CG over and over for some reason, which to me at least was a bit disappointing. although sometimes if i want to get through the story a bit faster i don't mind skipping some of the dialogue to read through it a bit faster now and then, even though one of the things i really like about VNs is the voice acting, skipping over the occasional voiced line should be fine, heck ive played VNs that didn't have voiced dialogue at all before!(original tsukihime)

I freaking loved the canon ending of Sui's route. One thing I noticed was the final resolution and the Black Cat scene at the end were not quite the same as in Mikoto's route, which made me wonder for a while which was technically canon. Though looking at old community discussions, it sounds like Sui's route was actually the canon route in the first game, so maybe the same is still true?

Honestly I'm trying to put forth more effort to appreciate the bad ends. Originally I discovered this series through the OVAs which are of course hot, but for a long time I wasn't really interested in the thought of playing the games because the extreme CGs just didn't look... appetizing if you will? These days I'm starting to appreciate Aojiru's style more, even if exaggerated stuff isn't generally my thing, and more importantly I'm learning that there's some really interesting lore to be experienced in those endings. I do definitely want to finish the rest of the game, it's just a question of when I suppose.

Funny thing about the voice acting, for me, is that I never actually heard most of it! My playthrough, a year and a half ago now (my god I still had short brown hair), was done as a somewhat-censored Let's Play video. I had the voices shut off and did them all in English myself, although looking back I would say I didn't do a particularly good job. I might consider redoing it at some point.

Oops, replied to one message but missed the other. I could see both interpretations of Nightmare being interesting. One thing I was thinking - partially @coveredLoki's idea and enhanced by me - was that while the dream-controlling horsedemon might be a species, Nightmare himself could be the last of his bloodline. He might have spent centuries watching his own brethren fall at the hands of human demon hunters. So in his quest to break into the physical realm again, he goes all-in on torturing the girls who stumble upon him - hating them for being part of the species that wiped out his, while also wanting to use and violate them to create offspring and save his doomed bloodline.

The "Nightmare not being dead" part of my crackfic idea was because I was thinking of it as a sequel to Ellie's fic, where Nightmare is reborn incomplete and is stuck in a body with no power. So he's basically just a guy who happens to have a horse head (also he's stuck at the size of a not quite fully grown teenager).

It's a little irrelevant now since I'm not gonna follow through on that specific idea, since the teacher's situation doesn't sound as loveless and put upon as I thought it did

I'll probably get around to playing Shinyaku Inyouchuu at some point, although I'm wondering if it ever goes on sale from its base price of 35 dollars on JAST. I get why they're charging that much, it's just kinda steep relative to other games I've bought for that price.

One thing I would add about Nightmare's canon fate is that while the game seems to make it seem pretty conclusive, it actually appears that he was only sealed away again, not truly killed, because he returns in another game later in the timeline to manipulate a new set of characters.

(Also, I thought it best to add a spoiler tag on your post, since that's technically a spoiler for DHTBoS. Hope my edit is all right.)
Edit: Wow, apparently hover-spoilers literally do not work on the old theme. Oh well, we're eventually phasing that out anyway.

@lonesomebro: If you thoroughly go through TB games they can be pretty beefy compared to other VN's I've noticed (like Black Lilith games are real short). I'd say Shin is a good 15+ hours to complete all routes. And the hottest content ever made. Worth it! Tongue
(but yes JAST games do go on sale sometimes, often around seasonal holidays I think).

Always worth mentioning that Nightmare still might be one of the strongest demon bosses in the series. I'm not sure how powered up Meioki gets in comparison, but some of my friends in years past would make it sound like Nightmare is still more powerful. Meioki starts off as a weak pathetic demon, but feeds on others and through his crazy tree trunk dicks drains spiritual energy from maidens via sexual intercourse. Doesn't seem like Nightmare has to do any of this and has his interdimensional abilities. Still not sure who I like more, both are my heroes. LOL... jk, or not?

Would love to see a legit DBZ chart of the official demon boss power levels lol. I wonder how Gyuki, Syuki/Orange Oni, and others compare too.

So I started my playthrough of Insects of Insemination, cleared the Main Ending and one bad ending so far

First bad ending route was really, really tedious with how much of it was Mikoto being degraded by male student body, it could have been half as many scenes.

Lore thought 1: So there's an entire network of exorcist organizations then. I'm rather annoyed the game doesn't specify what some of them having "extreme ideals" means. Are they just more racist against demons and wouldn't tolerate someone like Yoru working with them?

Lore thought 2: I didn't realize that when Ellie wrote that Takeru had demon organs in her fic, that in the game (at least the english translation) it would be phrased as having demons for organs. It makes me imagine the girls subjected to that as basically having a bunch of creatures tetris'd together inside them. Now I want to headcanon what the non-womb demons do exactly (besides be numerous enough that they can't be banished without Takeru dying from not having a midsection anymore)

Lore thought 3: So I guess the first game doesn't specify Yamato's parentage and just pulls out the oni stuff as a deus ex machina, huh.

Oh, one other criticism:

Imp feels like a really uneccesary character, Nightmare could have just been the one guy in disguise the whole time

Yeah, Yamato has some very interesting backstory, and I have to admit they could've done a better job at least foreshadowing the fact that he has demon powers due to his heritage. Really do wish we got more lore on the outside organizations, seems like there's potentially a lot we could be exploring. Other than the White Cat Brigade, which we do meet in another game.

[Edit: That spoiler bit in my post got very broken. Apparently multiple spoilers in one paragraph is something I need to fix.]

I suppose different people have different thoughts on the specific demons who show up, but I agree about Imp. I knew part of the Inyouchuu story already before I played the game, and that part came entirely out of left field for me. He was actually not in the original game, and as far as I'm aware, that one went exactly as you described.

Oh I already knew from the OVAs that Yamato was half-oni. I just figured the introductory story for the series would have done more with it than reveal it at the last minute to conveniently defeat the villain
