yeah im not sure if id bother reading it or not, assuming its all been fan translated even. but maybe someday if i felt like checking the series out, didn't seem that good to me though so its low priority at the moment.
Now thinking about how Inyouchuu and Kimetsu no Yaiba (aka Demon Slayer) would function as a crossover, since they have very different approaches to demons.
I love how thorough you are about thinking everything out and how to make things fit! If/when I do finish my crossover fanfic, its definitely not gonna be nearly as well thought out as that, I just thought it might be fun to see Reco and Palm from Mushi Futari in the Inyouchuu world and have them work together with the black cats and vice versa, didn't really plan it out too much beyond that though, like its not really gonna make sense, i have no clue what the time period of mushi futari is supposed to be. You also reminded me I still gotta watch demon slayer sometime for the animation.
I can't recall if I mentioned them earlier, I think I forgot or somehow didn't think of it at the time, but I think the Muv-luv girls would be a good fit for the bio-cave! Given how creepy/weird looking the beta are, I could see them doing some rather disturbing things to the girls similar to the villians in an Inyouchuu story. Just that I guess they would need a reason/motive to do so.
BIG SPOILERS FOR MUVLUV ALTERNATIVE AHEAD: which funnily enough... if you have read alternative, there is something that happens to Sumika in that story, cause the beta were trying to study humans or something and they did all sorts of things to the poor girl...
on the one hand, maybe it wouldn't work that well as a crossover, at least in that they would essentially be trying to fight demons with mechs??? which probably wouldn't end very well... I guess it could work for a bad end. or maybe! Mikoto and the others could use their spiritual powers to enhance or put spiritual power in the mechs to let them fight the demons with them. With different characters teaming up with a different pilot in their mech, Yamato and Takeru could work together, etc. I guess the demons would have to be massive though? Fighting demons in mechs is still a weird idea, maybe it still wouldn't work that well. The other way around would probably work even less though, as outside of maybe Yamatos oni arm being able to slice through some beta?(then again... he would probably still die without any sort of mech armour) I doubt that any of the black cats powers would be very effective on the beta since they are aliens not anything supernatural.
I guess another idea(maybe kinda silly) maybe some of the inyouchuu monsters could infect the giant mechs and control their movement, then use the huge mechs to do things to the muvluv and inyouchuu cast
