We haven't had any updates in a while so I thought I'd try this. Anybody ever seen Star Trek 4? "m revisiting it tonight with some friends. It's the one where they go back in time to rescue some humpback whales because they're the only species that might be able to communicate with an alien probe. This is a real movie. At point it was the highest grossing Star Trek movie of all time.

I'm trying to remember what actual Star Trek movies I've seen. Off the top of my head, I remember First Contact was pretty good.
Now, something I've seen many times is Spaceballs!

I've seen the first Star Trek awhile back and then all the TNG movies. I like TNG a lot and DS9. Eventually I want to watch TOS, then go through all the movies.

I'm not sure about Voyager. But I was thinking of checking out Enterprise sometime.

Haven't seen too many movies in awhile, but I finally watched the long Extended Editions of LOTR in recent months.

TNG is excellent. I watched TOS quite a while ago and had a good time with that too.

Sweet, I love Star Trek and Spaceballs. I am so excited Mel Brooks is finally delivering on his promise to make "Spaceballs 2 The Quest for Money".

Troi: I feel their emotions, Captain. They're... full of fear. Despair. Pain. Also arousal for some reason.

Picard: Data, run a scan on the rift.

Data: Affirmative, Captain. I believe it is within range to capture photo scans.

Picard: Make it so.

I remember it was the only one my brother liked when i made him watch the og movies. Went to a theatrical showing eight months ago in Oakland and I loved it. Two uncs let me take the middle row to and i quote "let the young'uns have the good seats"

I was planning to make a movie thread earlier to get recs while absolutely trashed on alcohol LOL. Now im watching Charlie's Angels (2000) while blasted on two big beers and one shot bottle of pink whitney.

Back on to Star Trek tho, Ive seen up to s1 of ds9 and I love it. I'm planning on writing a piece on the tng episode "The Drumhead" one of my faves! Also what are everyone's thoughts on Star Trek: Insurrection, I like it but its apparently looked down on...

I loved Insurrection when it was new. I haven't seen it in a while, I understand why people don't like it. There is an argument to be made about why it's bad. But I still enjoy it as well. I think it has plenty of great lines, a good moral, and some great action. Plus the make-up effects are really good too,. I need to watch "The Drumhead". I know a lot about it. I just haven't actually seen it all the way through. I do love the message though. Currently my favorite episode is "Q-Who". I think, the one where Q pushes the Enterprise to meet the borg before we were ready.

I need to see "Voyage Home" in theaters. I was lucky enough to see Wraith of Kahn and the slow motion picture before our local art house theater closed. It keeps coming to theaters in neighborhood, but my schedule just never works out.

I need to see the Charlie's Angels movies again. I didn't "watch them" per say. At work for a while I was able to wear some earbuds and listen to stuff from my phone. So I would play movies and listen to the dialogue and imagine it in my head. It made for nice background because I was doing slightly mindless also VERY detail oriented work.

When you say trash do you mean you're asking for bad movies? Like so bad it's good? Also what kind of beer do you drink? I'm partial to ice house (local brewery), the Mexican beer Corona, another local brew called Vodoo Ranger (I think that's what it's called), and a Japanese beer Ichiro and Sapporo. Though I don't drink that often as my family has a history of alcoholism. Usually I just drink one or two with a meal at celebrations and then I stop.

When I said "trash" I meant getting intoxicated haha, but I do like so bad its good type movies. Last night I tried this philippine beer "Red Horse" which was eight percent abv. I usually drink american beers though, like Coors Banquet and Budweiser. I cannot tell you what happened during Charlies Angels.

I love the Q episode in season 3 "Deja Q." Everyone sick of Q's shit, so when he comes back as a human they were just bullying him for the whole episode. The way the borg were written early tng was so good, they really felt "advanced" and were near unbeatable, through traditional means.

Wish my theaters would show the other movies again. I don't like TMP but perhaps seeing in on a larger screen would improve the viewing experience. Last year I went to a 20th anniversary showing of Revenge of the Sith and I felt that the theater experience helped that movie not look like total shit.
