"This is a quote," Takeru explained, "that happens to be one full sentence for me."
Mikoto cleared her throat. "Well, yeah, but the narrative can fully end its sentence if the quote follows it."
"Right, and the quote generally ends in a comma if it comes first and the action of the narrative finishes off the quote," Takeru added.
"Or end the sentence normally if it doesn't!"
"Oh." Takeru perked up suddenly. "If the character's action isn't specifically describing how they said their line, but just what they're doing at the same time, then the quote before it can just end as a sentence."
And then they probably had hot demon sex or something.
Not directly related to writing but still related to dialogue, there's a new feature in our quote formatting on this site where you can format a character's quote like it was appearing in the game: > [name] text
