Saw that one the other day. Agreed, that one was pretty well done too!

I saw Supergirl the other day. No poster picture this time since I’m writing this on my phone (at work  Sad ). I was expecting something awful due to the poor reviews, but it was a pretty good movie! Only problems were some pacing issues and awful music choices, there was an attempt to imitate Gunn’s style which was an awful idea. Definitely worth a watch though and gets me in the mood to binge the other Superman movies. Big Grin

I thought Supergirl was pretty mid, and I'm actually kinda mad at it because I read the comic it was based off of, Woman of Tomorrow, which does multiple things that would have made the film more interesting.

And I don't just mean visual spectacle stuff. Like, it would have been cool if the green sun planet in the movie was also full of dinosaur monsters like in the book, but mostly the film should have lifted the point of that scene, which was Ruthye getting to show her capabilities by defending Kara's body until the green sun set

I see what you mean. I did intend to read the comic it claims to be adapting but I just didn’t so I found it more enjoyable. It’s unfortunate that the film falls flat as an adaptation, I just think that it doesn’t deserve to be treated as another “awful” superhero movie, though that may be due to manufactured twitter discourse (I need to get offline lol)

I recently watched Jupiter Ascending! Not sure if anyone remembers this movie, I, myself only remembered the awful title and a pair of hover boots until catching this on Tubi. Basically a tonally confused version of The Fifth Element. Less charismatic, (intentionally) funny, and coherent. With a plot so dense I thought it was based off a book, turns out it was meant to start an original series of films. I actually liked the designs of all the spaceships in this movie, it felt like those were done first, it was upsetting to see so much effort and great actors being wasted.
Real line from the movie:
"I have more in common with a dog that with you Angry "
"I like dogs Big Grin  Heart "
It's awful, but that special kind of awful that makes me want to watch it again!

This is also the only movie made by the Wachowski's that I have seen.

I thought I recalled that one being the Wachowski's haha. Sounds kind of entertaining. I know it's cliche, but you should definitely check out the Matrix. The first is a stone cold classic, and I'm a fan of the sequels more with every rewatch. But you can kind of take or leave them. The first stands on its own overall and is pretty great though. It gets sillier after that, but it's still a fun sci-fi idea and different era of cinema...

Have you seen the Riddick movies? You might like those. I miss fun action/adventure sci-fi movies and shows.

I've been interested in the Matrix for awhile now, saw a clip from the Animatrix and loved it. I remember hearing about Riddick, but I honestly don't know anything about it, sci-fi is a really unique genre of entertainment and it feels like people are scared of tackling it now. Probably due to oversaturation or just a general lack of ideas.

Riddick actually starts with the Pitch Black film. But then from there it kind of turned into Vin Diesel's sci-fi adventure series haha. The two games they made are actually quite good too. Some nice hidden gems.
