Bullet points can be done with a hyphen symbol followed by a space. I think an asterisk might work as well, but I'll have to check on that. This stuff is not inherently intuitive if you aren't used to formatting in Markdown, but I am planning on tossing in a much better reply composer in the near future. Should both make it easier to format as well as teach by example on how to write it manually, so I'm excited for it. I am actually seeing some formatting issues on your post that are absolutely NOT your fault and very likely due to my two separate parsers colliding again. Rest assured these are temporary issues!
  • Honestly I need to get all the lore in one way or another, but I'm already seeing a lot of interesting tidbits in the remake's alternate routes that are going to scratch some of that itch. Like the stuff you've mentioned with Sui for instance.

  • Would you be talking about Rin X Sen, perhaps?

I actually had that one written down a while back for looking interesting, although I don't think I ever got around to watching the whole thing.

You bring up a really interesting point about the scat content. It's actually kind of funny the way fetishes work; strictly speaking, scat is based upon something that is 100% normal that most humans do every single day, whereas guro tends to be horrific body trauma that most of us would never want to experience IRL. Yet when it comes down to the fun times with the hot anime girls, them being put through painful harm (internally or externally) tends to be seen as way easier to stomach than that normal thing we all do in the bathroom. You're certainly right about how "the fetish chooses you" - I like that phrase, actually!

Honestly, while there are certainly a few of us who will hard-pass on those elements of Inyouchuu - myself and EchelonV for instance - it is still something the series explores. Our site's rules were specifically written with this in mind - "respect both the interests and boundaries of other fans" - and I appreciate how you acknowledge both sides in one paragraph. If you consider yourself a scat fan, you'd be more than welcome to make a thread dedicated to chatting about it. I'd probably say something like "Scat Appreciation Club" under Related Media, but it's really up to you. You probably won't get a ton of engagement at this point, from myself included, but rest assured you have the Inyouchuuverse owner/administrator's protection on your side if you want to share your thoughts and fantasies in there.

I think the freedom of expression is one of those things that the average person doesn't realize they need until it's taken away from them. It's easy to say "oh, who cares if insert disturbing content type here is illegal, only weirdos like that anyway." But ultimately, human brains are very complex things with very complex needs. Interests and fetishes can spring up out of nowhere, and others show up as a coping mechanism for trauma that one may or may not even realize they have. Every story has a right to be told, and every audience has a right to experience the stories they need. At the end of the day, none of this is real, and as long as it's all kept within an audience mature enough to handle it, it is hurting no one.

Funny (or maybe not so funny) thing since you mention it, Harry Potter is such an absolute rabbit hole of crossing the fiction/reality line. As you point out, many parents kept their kids from it based on traditional/religious judgment of its content. For many kids who grew up with it, it was the LGBT-supportive allegory they needed to have the courage to be their real selves. Fast forward to the present day, and author JKR is militantly anti-trans and has openly bragged about using her HP profits to take away rights and support from people already struggling with it. Given how it directly affects myself, at this point I find HP morally objectionable yet not Inyouchuu. One is actively being used by its creator to cause harm, and the other isn't. For additional painful irony, many people who hated it for being "evil" back in the day are now happy with it for that reason.

  • Also yes, we'd love to see you over in the Introduce Yourself thread!

I'll address the rest of your post as well since I guess I got to it before the others did:

  • Right there with you on the translation stuff. I've had some ideas on what could be done with MTL but ultimately there's no replacement for actually understanding both languages. Sometimes things really just flow better and make more sense when you change them. Those who scream about it being bad because a translated line happened to mention the word "patriarchy" really need to get a life. (Note: the sort of inherent hypocrisy in that kind of behavior is another rabbit hole I could go down, but that's a story for another day.) Though, it's still worth acknowledging that there are some truly terrible localizations out there, with a prime example being the monstrosity that is Glitter Force, a.k.a. Smile Precure with all the edges softened so the little kids don't have to experience actual storytelling.

  • I'll also answer that last bit. The order is OG/remake > Shoku > Etsu > Kyou and then admittedly I forget the rest at the moment... and now I realize EchelonV ninja'd me with the full correct answer already. Though it can be said that Etsu's position is a bit dubious here. That's definitely the time slot it takes place in, but the game itself had a lot of big content differences and some writing choices that made it extremely unpopular, flopping so badly it put the whole series into a five-year hiatus. As of Kyou, Etsu is not really even acknowledged as canon, though it does have good worldbuilding and introduced a few characters that the fandom certainly appreciates.

I'm sure this contributed in no small part to Etsu's failure... (major spoiler and also do I have to say "trigger warning" on this site or...?)

The one perk to Etsu is it gave us Mama Shiratori, Hatsune. And I just love seeing how she has both Mikoto and Takeru in her. But this really is such a critical key character to introduce outside of Hayami's input. I have a translated artbook from the 5th game Goku's era (plan to put it on the Wiki sometime!), Hayami is asked about Etsu at some point and just point blank shrugs it off, stating he had nothing to do with it and they didn't press him more on that.

Conceptually I do think it has a good premise. We know Yamato is half-demon and might have issues with that later on, which happens in Etsu. So the girls at some point willingly have sex and breed with him to control his demonic side or something. Going off the cliffnotes OVA. I have never even played the game, that isn't completely out of disinterest, I could never get it running on my Win7 PC when the others were always fine. Weird.

But for fanfic sake, I do love the introduction of Hatsune. And kind of back to this thread, some ideas I've long had with her:

  • If she is to make another main appearance, a new demon boss having the ability to de-age girls, making her younger than her own daughters, I think could be potential for some cute interactions and hot stuff.
  • A backstory arc with her, Kyoko, and Momo teamed up as the former Black Cat's or something (if they were, not sure). I wonder how they'd redesign them a bit as younger characters. Maybe Kyoko had even bigger tits back then, so they can still have Momo joking about it, as Rinko does Sui (though don't mix this up, Rinko is Kyoko's daughter haha, so she didn't get mommies genes in that area! Funny). They seem like they'd be a fun mix.

Outside of the evil sad stuff with Ouka/Kikuka's parents, dad's tend to be a bit forbidden in the Inyouchuu world haha. Not much intel on the rest of them, or Sui's parents at all from what I know. Ultimately, I wager Inyouchuu like a lot of porn is more male viewer centric anyways, so maybe that's why... always 10x more female characters to work with. But then there's me that loves it all more and more... Shin has some really nice uncensored cocks, Nightmare for sure and some other guys. I look forward to more of those in Hanamaru 2 as well. Tongue

For all I know, there might be obscure canon that debunks it, but I love the idea of Hatsune and/or the others being the previous generation who worked at Black Cat. A fanfic idea I've been playing with even mentions this in passing, along with the implication that Hatsune wore the same uniform that Mikoto wears now.

Damn, I CRAVE that visual now. Maybe rocked a different hair style too. Not quite Mikoto's ponytail, but how about a high up ponytail? Lots of potential. Maybe Kyoko had a bob like Rinko in her youth herself. I think a hilarious joke with Momo would be that she looks 100% exactly the same. The immortal one. lol

It really is tricky to wonder what of all this older 2000's material with the novels and stuff is canon or not. Gotta get it all translated and sorted someday!

It's kind of interesting to me how Inyouchuu focuses heavily on female characters but also puts you in the girl's POV a lot of the time. It's classified as being for male audiences, but between that and how relatable the girls can be (at least to me) when you get into their stories, it does make me wonder if they did consider possible female audiences too. Leaning towards lesbian obviously.

Okay, I think I gotta draw Teenage Black Cat Hatsune at some point then!

Maybe you or Echelon could write a fanfic scenario with a female villain, maybe a former exorcist who went through what the girls experience in the bad end paths (enslaved, forced to breed with and birth countless demons, body irreversibly warped) but has come out the other side a willing ally of youma who wants to drag more exorcists into lustful oblivion.

That's not a bad idea at all, and indeed I think we've talked about doing that at some point. There are a few projects I have cooking up, so we'll see where that goes. I like your plot suggestion!

Now, in other news... Welcome aboard! It's great to see new people discover our little space and make the community that much more fun. I hope you have a good time here!
