General fanfic writing thread!

Yeah the Space Pirate Sara thing wasn't working out so I think I'll brainstorm some other ideas more.

ah darn. what wasn't working about it? i was looking forward to reading more of it!

I couldn't figure out what to have it build up to that wasn't just what the OVA/game did already but without the futa part (namely, Sara victorious with the baron twins as mind broken-ish slaves)

And I felt like if I was going to workshop stuff on here, it would be better to stick to something more related to Inyouchuu directly or in spirit

If you want to talk about anything like Muramasa x Inyouchuu crossover ideas or similar possibilities, I'd be up for that.

(I still have to watch a playthrough to know more plot stuff to draw on, but my starting premise is Momohime being preyed upon by Meiouki from Shoku)

I used to use Notepad, but eventually I decided it was a lot more intuitive to lay out stories in LibreOffice. It has all the common features of MS Word (and Excel and more), but it's free and locally installed. From there you can paste into a Rich Text draft on AO3, or I suppose I should put together an equivalent method for fanfics on here.

Thanks! something like Libre Office is exactly what i was looking for! installed it and thats what ill likely use  for any writing from now on. Do you know of any programs for keeping ideas organized/easy to shuffle around? not sure how to explain it exactly, but like a spider web where you have little bubbles with text in them with each point/idea so you could have one labeled Characters for example in the middle and then a bunch of smaller bubbles branching off from that, that could then have smaller bubbles with ideas related to it branching off from those, basically a way to keep ideas organised and easy to view/change stuff quickly. i have a text file with a bunch of ideas for the second and third fanfic written down(as well as ideas for the one im currently working on) but im pretty disorganised sometimes when thinking about stuff so i tend to jump around a bunch so going back to those notes can get kinda confusing and having an easy way to organise and split up the stuff ive written into smaller chunks that can be shuffled around, edited, and lumped together in ways that make sense would really help i think. not sure if I explained it right so hopefully that makes sense.

I'm making decent progress on my Inyouchuu/Muramasa crossover (more the first than the second).

I'd post my rough stuff, but I've kind of written the beginning and ending parts first and left the middle out so far, so I feel like it's missing a bit too much context.

I might go back and rewatch some Muramasa playthroughs to see if there's any tangential stuff I can stick in. The fic is set after Momohime's second ending, since that was the easiest place for Inyouchuu material to show up and be Inyouchuu. I felt like if Inyouchuu monsters showed up in the course of the game's plot, they'd just end up being like the demon bosses the game already had, just with dicks hanging out.

Until I actually post my full Muramasa/Inyouchuu fic, I'll refrain from creating a whole new thread just for my stories and story ideas. Gotta get over the hump of actually finishing something.

Until then, I wanted to share the concept of what I'm writing now, and a few more ideas I've had to see if it inspires anything in the rest of you!

First is the aformentioned crossover, whose premise is that Meiouki found out about the sword from Muramasa that can cut souls from bodies, which he wants to use to revive Kikua and Ouka's mother after eating her broken body. Thus, he sets a trap for the sword's current wielder: the former princess Momohime (although she goes by the name Oboro in the fic because it follows her story's second ending). Explicit, Non-con, Bad End

Then I thought of a pair of Sui/Takeru stories. The first is Sui having nightmare/wet dream (is there a word for that? there should be a word for that) about Demon!Takeru making her their personal seedbed. The second is Takeru and Sui getting trapped together during a mission, and Sui taking it upon herself to satisfy Takeru's urges when she runs out of seals to suppress her demon organs.

The last idea is just a what-if related to wishing Meiouki hadn't eaten the twin's mom: an AU where Meiouki and Tsukishiro Shizuka married and Kikua and Ouka were half-oni as a result. I didn't get any further on how a story would come from this other than a crackfic version of Inyouchuu Shoku where it's Yamato who get lured to the island to be the twin's shared husband because he's the only remaining male with oni blood in the modern day other than their dad. Feel free to steal this whole concept.

These all sound like very intriguing ideas. That last one sounds rather entertaining, crack or not.

these all sound awesome! The Yamato one sounds really fun, and the Sui/Takeru stories sound great too!

also maybe this is a silly question but does anyone know what that bamboo slide thingy that has water go into it is called? sorry if im not being specific enough, trying to think of how to describe it.

Haven't gotten as much writing done as I would like as ive been busy lately, but I did get some done last night. The story ended up being more work then I initially intended, as ive gone from just having one NSFW scene to three (scene where Yamato is having a pleasant dream, scene showing what palm and reco are up to in their own world, and then the Sui and Yamato scene on the beach at the end) I haven't even gotten to the beach part of the story yet lol. but yeah I think I have to keep editing and re-reading what I have currently too, I have 9 pages so far but I definitely need to go back to the first scene and change some stuff.
