A fellow Star Trek VI fan! I didn't know people had a problem with the film's humor though, Trek (in my opinion) has always been sort of goofy. I remember an episode of TOS where Spock says that Kirk would "make a very convincing nazi" and Kirk's reaction felt like it needed some "wah wah wah" sound...
I loved Undiscovered Country as a finale to the TOS era, its social commentary was on point, looked great, and had a good amount of speeches and action! A yummy Star Trek salad!
I've been putting off DS9 season 2, but recently I've been interested in checking out Battlestar Galactica after browsing my Paramount recommended.
Final post before I go back to being mia (midterms are awful): I finally watched The Terminator! It really does look incredible for a movie released in 1984, I loved seeing the desolate future in the beginning, though it didn't look as impressive in later flashbacks. Arnold's poor English translates well to an emotionless machine and the makeup looks amazing, despite the upscaling "exposing" the illusion.
I'm afraid that I didn't like it as much as I thought it would, and the reason being Terminator 2! When I was a kid, my father sat me down one night and put on Terminator 2 (and the RoboCop remake but lets not get into that) and it was awesome! I think that may have shot my expectations too high for the original, but it is in no way a bad movie. I plan on rewatching Terminator 2 soon, perhaps watching it back to back with 3, which I hear is bad. Oh well :/
